Payment Types

Tax payments may be made by personal checks or money orders for the amount due. We also accept cash.  There is also a 24 hour drop box outside the front doors of the Annex for payments.  The fee for E-Checks is $1.95.

There is a $25.00 charge for all NSF Checks

You can now make your tax payments by credit card on the web or by telephone, credit card payments can be made at the Treasurer's Office. There will be a $3.95 flat service charge added to all Visa personal debit card payments and a 2.75% service charge added to all other credit card payments.  You can also pay by E-Check for a $1.95 fee.

Tax Bill Mailing Schedule

  • Taxes are mailed by the first of April each year.

Tax Payment Deadlines

  • Taxes are always due May 10th and November 10th, unless this date falls on a holiday or weekend, then the deadline will be the next business day.

TAX DEADLINE FOR 2020

  • FIRST INSTALLMENT:  MAY 11, 2020
  • SECOND INSTALLMENT:  NOVEMBER 10, 2020

Penalty

Taxes received after the due date will receive a 5% penalty for the first 30 days if the taxpayer was not already delinquent.  After 30 days another 5% would be added. If the taxpayer is delinquent prior to the installment due it will be an automatic 10%. No exceptions.

 

 

Mobile Home Permits

Mobile home permits are available in our office. They are used for moving and/or transferring of title. Taxes have to be paid in full before permit can issued. Fee for permit is $5.00.

Treasurer Functions

The office of treasurer is a constitutional office. The treasurer serves a four-year term with a two-term limit during any twelve year period. The County Treasurer is the custodian of all monies belonging to the county. Disbursements of monies with the proper orders issued and attested by the county auditor.

The responsibilities include: Billing and the collection of property taxes (real estate-personal-mobile home); taxes involved in bankruptcy; collection of inheritance tax, gross income tax, innkeepers tax; issuance of tax clearances; mobile homes and alcoholic beverage permits; investment of funds; conducts annual real estate tax sale; the collection of delinquent property taxes and taxes in judgment; and search for and collection of delinquent taxes of public employees.

The office will also be open on the following Saturdays for tax payments:

  • Due to COVID-19, no Saturday date for May, 2020
  • Saturday, November 7, 2020 8:00 a.m. till Noon
